When going through my creative process as an artist, an objective that I always try my best to achieve is contrasting each piece from the traditional styles such as the paintings crafted by the old masters one would find in a local museum. My work differentiates some ways in both technique and subject matter, especially after observing the methods of today’s contemporary artists. Much of my inspiration to create art comes from the famous pop culture world many, including myself,  find comfort in.

Ever since I was a little kid I’ve always doodled the cartoons I was watching or the video games I was playing at the time in a sketch pad and as the time has passed nothing has changed in that regard. From comic book superheroes to TV show icons, their own fictional worlds often make my mind wander and consider all the different ways I could reinvent them in my own style, especially in recent years.  I also find acrylic paint and paint markers as fantastic mediums to capture those icons in the right light and also add a certain vibrancy that helps to capture people’s attention and hopefully make them say “I haven’t seen anything like this before”. Though I am still fairly new to introducing my art to these audiences, the word that summarizes my goal on this journey may sound simple but can be in its own way very complex, and that word is originality.
